What an anti climax!
I was all geared up Tuesday morn, Donning my new work attire, Stila make-up, shoes, bag.
Had packed:
Stila Umbrella
Ipod
Notebook
Pen
Waterbottle
Packet of biscuits
Tube of fruit pastilles
Contract
Ang Pow from Mom and Dad

Plus Dad drove me there, and reached at 8.40, 20 minutes early.

Penny (HR girl) rocks up at 8.50.
"Josephine! I have bad news for you!"

3 reasons perhaps?:
1. Senior HR after reviewing your resume thinks you are too much of a freak and wants to revoke the offer
2. You failed the medical, you have rabies you monkey.
3. Your contant urge of wanting standing on top your your desk to tap dance will be too much of a distraction

Thing is, Penny got the dates screwed up and thought that orientation for newbies run every tuesday, but realised was only once a month. And she said that she came in early to call me so that I would'nt have to come in. Ingrate! As if I would'nt almost be reaching the office at 8.50, what a blatently lame excuse to cover her furry butt!
Needless to say, i was rather displeased as I had already psyched myself up, and it was a bit of a downer. mom wasn't impressed and was pressing me to report this "Terrible irresponsible oversight" (in her words) to my department boss. But, am not for one to kick up a big ruckus, seeing as how i probably have to face Penny at some point if I work there.

I am going to take this 1 week to rethink my options.
I don't believe in conincidences, and firmly hold true to the belief that everything, be it good or bad happens for a reason.
Perhaps it's God's way of telling me; RETHINK if you really want to sell your soul to this place! Or as my Godmother would say, It's a humbling experience Josie, Sometimes we all need to be put in our place
